Carrie Jane Bankston was the sixth daughter of Henry and Martha McDonald Bankston. She was born April 29, 1868 in Bright Star, Miller County AR, and died June 5, 1957 in Wetumka, Hughes County, OK. She married first a Mr. Childs, who died during this pregnancy. To this union was born daughter Mitty Mae. Notes from a contributor's family history legend said Eluid Smith was a cousin to Mr. Childs, and was chosen by the family to marry Carrie because she was a widow and pregnant. She found that the Foster (Smith) family married a Childs.
