The photo above was taken from a county cookbook. The cookbook says "George Washington Patterson had one of the first cotton warehouses in Bloomburg", and that they were "charter members of the Presbyterian church of Bloomburg." To view the pages of the book click HERE

If you view the Bankston Family Bible page, you can see Lizzie's name looks like "Tirsie" and for many years, I, as well as others, believed it was. If you come across old documents with that name, realize this is why.

Lizzie Ella Bankston was the third daughter of Henry and Martha McDonald Bankston of Bright Star, AR. She married George Washington  Patterson about 1875. They had the following children:
