Lula Virginia (Lucy) Bankston, was born October 27, 1863 in (probably Coryell County) Texas. She was the sixth child of Henry and Martha McDonald Bankston. She married Pierce Sexton ca 1882, son of Elisha Sexton and and Loduska Dodd. She lived in Miller Co., AR and Caddo Parish, LA.

LULA VIRGINIA "LUCY" BANKSTON was the head of household in 1910 in Caddo Parish, LA with six children. Her oldest son, Lester was listed as head of household in 1920 , with three of her children and Podie's child, Frankie (female), by a Kendricks. Lucy's oldest daughter, Jetta, was married, Walter was married, and Mandie had probably died. Lester said that Lula's family was well off. They disowned her when she married Oroster Sexton. OROSTER PIERCE SEXTON was from South Carolina. He had a brother named Fincher. Later
generations said he helped Lula’s family when Oroster died. He bought their
land, and when oil was found on it he profited a goodly

Jetta Sexton Jetta Sexton, the oldest child of Oroster Sexton and
Lucy Bankston was born in Miller Co., AR, September 7, 1881 and died May
19, 1910 in Longville, LA. Her body was transported back to Brightstar,
AR for burial. She married William Harrison Sheppard when she was about
15 years old. He was born September 25, 1877 in Doddridge, AR and died

LESTER PIERCE SEXTON LESTER PIERCE SEXTON, the oldest son of Oroster Pierce and Lula "Lucy" Bankston Sexton was probably born in Doddridge (Brightstar), Miller Co., AR. As a young man he lived in DeQueen, Sevier Co., AR and in Rodessa, Caddo Parish, LA. Lester was born September 13, 1883 in AR, and died March 09, 1962 in Baptist Memorial Hospital, DeRidder, LA.His dad died in his arms when Lester was 12 years old (1895). Lester worked for many years for Longbell Lumber Co. and was a mill superintendent for numerous years in DeRidder, LA and Bessmay, TX. He married (1) EVA MAE HEADRICK Abt. 1911, daughter of BATES HEADRICK and MARTHA ASBRIDGE. Eva first married a railroad man and he left her. She was working as a telephone operator in Orange, TX. L. P. saw her walking across the street in Bon Ami, TX and immediately liked her. She always said she liked sugar and butter on rice because she was from Missouri. born September 13, 1883 in AR, and died March 09, 1962 in Baptist Memorial Hospital, DeRidder, LA. Lester married (2) CYNTHIA MCKINLEY Aft. April 1951 in San Angelo, TX, daughter of JOHN MCKINLEY and ELIZABETH MILLWEE. He was buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery. WALTER PRESTON SEXTON was the third child of Oroster and Lula "Lucy" BANKSTON SEXTON. He was born May 1887 in Arkansas, and died following gall bladder surgery March 25, 1938 in Weed, Siskiyou County, CA, and is buried in Winema cemetery. He married MAUDE JEANETTE YARBOROUGH about 1908 in Bon Ami, LA.
