"No lineage, however illustrious, can give dignity and honor to a worthless character, and no ancestry, however base, can destroy true worth and merit." ~~David Beem 1917

The earliest Beem we have documented is Michael b ca 1790 NC m Mary Polly Lockman. There is a real dilemma in the parentage of Michael (Ranger Mike) Beem. He lived in a nest of Daniel Beem descendants, and yet not the son of Daniel Beem. Daniel Beem's son, Michael, never married, whereas our Michael married, had ten children and is written about in many of the early history books of Jackson County, IN as an Indian fighter, and built one of the first ferrys in the area. Information will be added as it can be compiled. Check back now and again for updates. If you are researching this Beem and connecting families, leave your info and I'll add your email address and/or website link here for others.
