The following was in the papers given to me by Evelyn Harris Fowler of Meeker, OK. I have not followed up on this information, but I thought it was certainly worth copying here.

March 26, 1978
I thought I would write and tell you a little about the Harris Family. I have a whole notebook full of highlights. The first Harris that we can locate in the family was John Harris who lived in Hanover county, Virginia. Thats where Richmond is. That was in the early 1700's. John's son was Daniel, and his son was Cornelius. They were all devout Quakers and were fined and imprisoned for not paying taxes of the time to the Episcopal church. They married into the Stanley, Hutchins and Webber families. The Webbers were German. Cornelius's son Daniel married Jane Vivion or (Ione Vivion) and they moved to Kentucky, Estill Co. There is much information on Jane's family. It goes back to some wealthy and famous English people. Daniel and Jane's son, Josiah M. Harris was a blacksmith who married Sarah Tipton, and they moved to Nebraska in 1858 or so. They settled and raised a large family there. Josiah would be your (Wink or cousins) great-grandfather. His sister and family moved with them and her great-grandaughter lives in Oregon and sent me most of this information. Josiah's oldest son was John H. Harris, your grandfather who moved in 1900 to Oklahoma.

My grandfather Edd(Gus) Dickinson died about 8 years ago. In 1970. My grandmother, Mandy died in '74. My great-grandmother was Rebecca Francis (Harris) Dickinson.
