I have a few of the things grandmother had. Nothing
valuable, but certainly sentimental, bringing back memories of long ago and
reminding me how times have changed. This fan is one of those things and it
makes me remember how, on hot Sundays we would use these fans, provided in the
church, to cool ourselves. I don't remember there being electric fans at all
in the earlier years. Often the doors and windows were opened. Summer days in
Oklahoma often reach over 100 degrees! As shown on the photo below,
merchants advertised on the fans, and I think provided them, probably.
