	James and Laurie Ann Phillips Wilkerson
	James P. Wilkerson was born ca 1810, probably in KY, (even though on one census one of his sons says his father was born in VA.) We believe his father was obviously the "J" ( James) Wilkerson b VA ca 1786, found enumerated near he, and his brother, Calvin b KY 1824, on the 1850 Crawford county, MO census. According to the new discovery of Wilkerson bible records, the date of James and Lauryann's (how it was spelled in the family bible) marriage was April 15, 1838. We found James and Laurie Ann on the census in 1860, living in Camden County, MO. James died June 15, 1867 and is buried in the Barnumton Cemetery near Climax Springs, Camden County, MO. Laurie was still living by March 20, 1874, as a Federal land record on that date names her as the widow of James. (Their son, John W. Wilkerson files claim for the same land February 5, 1891.) Laurie Ann's (this is how it was spelled on the land records) maiden name is said to be Phillips, but her parentage remains a mystery for now. While we continue to search, it is difficult. We have found no wills from James' father naming him, no deeds or other county records. Crawford and Camden counties both had courthouse fires, and records naming these have not been salvaged. At least we haven't found them. A thorough search for war records has not been made as yet. Fortunately, we have found a couple of descendants with family and bible records*, or the possibilities would look very dim.....This could take a while.

CROCKER was born about 1845 in New York. He appeared on the census on 15 Jun 1870 in , Camden Co., Missouri. Harriet Elizabeth WILKERSON and Silas W. CROCKER had the following children: Alporetie(?)
