Be it remembered that heretofore To wit on the 13th day of November in the year Eighteen hundred and forty three at a Probate court, comes Lewis SMITH one of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Vincent LOCKMAN late of said County decd who being duly sworn says that he saw the above named Vincent LOCKMAN, sgn, seal, publish, and declare the foregoing as his last will and testament and that he was at the time of signing the same of sound mind and memory and that he signed his name thereto as a witness in presence of said testator, and at his request, which oath being endorsed on said will and subscribed to by said witnesses. Whereupon it is ordered that said will be entered of record, which will is in the words and figures following To wit In the name of God Amen I Vincent LOCKMAN of Jackson COunty and State of Indiana being of sound mind to make this my last will and Testament in the following To wit I will that the bed which Olive BLACKATER[?] has received to be her portion of my estate, I will that the bed given to Polly BEEM to be her portion of my estate. I will that the bed given to Peggy BLACKETER[?] to be her portion of my estate. I will that the bed given to Patsey HUNSUCKER be her portion of my estate. I will to Anny[?] LOCKMAN fifteen dollars as her portion of my estate I will that the horse given to John LOCKMAN be his portion of my estate I will that the horse beast [superscript] given to Thomas LOCKMAN be his portion of my estate. I will that the horse beast given to William LOCKMAN be his portion of my estate. I will that the horse beast given to Washington I. LOCKMAN be his portion of my estate. I also will to Emily REYNOLDS, one cow and calf and one bed. I will to Malinda I. WEDDLE one cow and calf and one bed. I will to Nancy Elinor LOCKMAN onecow and calf and one bed. I will to Manerva LOCKMAN one cow and calf and one bed, and also her maintainance during her life time. I will that my wife have the content of the farm and keep the children that are single together and in the event of her marriaging then she is to have nothing but what the law will allow her and I also will that after my body is decently buried the remainder of my property after given each their portion as mentioned to be equally divided share and share alike Among Emily, Malinda, Jane, Nancy Eleanor, Elizabeth Caroline and Minerva done in proper exercise of mind and in the presence of these two witnesses this twenty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three } Samuel W. TANNER, Lewis SMITH } Vincent LOCKMAN his mark {seal}" [end p. 46][p. 47:] " February Term 1827 47 Afterwards To wit on the 15th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four Comes Richard D FISHER and on his motion he is appointed administrator of the Estate of Vincent LOCKMAN deceased with the will annexed, the said wil having been proved and recorded in the court at the November Term 1844. Whereupon the said FISHER entered into bond in the sum of five hundred dollars with Lewis SMITH his Security which bond being approved the said admr being duly says that he [sic] will discharge the duties and trusts committed to him as administrator of the estate of Vincent LOCKMAN decd with this will annexed according to law. And afterwards To wit on the said 15th day of May in the said year of our thousand eight hundred and forty four. "Ordered that Richard D. FISHER admr of the estate of Vincent LOCKMAN decd with the will annexed give notice of the taking out of letters of administration of said estate by written advertisements posted up at five of the most public places in said county. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- And afterwards To wit of the 9th day of November in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six. Henry G. SMITH admr de bonis non of Vincent LOCKMAN decd vs Lanning BEEM, admr of Richard D. FISHER, who was administrator of Vincent LOCKMAN d ----------------------------------------------------------------------- On the 8th day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six letters of administration de bonis non was granted unto Henry G. SMITH, of the estate of said Vincent LOCKMAN, in consequence of the death of Richard D. FISHER former administrator which said letter are in the words and figures To wit "I William H EWING Clerk of the Probate court in and for the county of Jackson and State of Indiana do certify the annexed to be a true copy of the last will and testament of Vincent LOCKMAN late of Jackson County and State of Indiana deceased (See oage 1. order book Probate Court) and of the certificate of Probte as endorsed thereon and Henry G. SMITH having duly qualified and given bond as required by law as administrator de bonis non with the will annexed is duly authorized to take upon himslef the administration of said estate eccording to such will Witness my hand and seal of said Court this 8th day of October in this year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six William H. SMITH admr de bonis non } of Vincent LOCKMAN } vs } Lanning BEEM admr of Richard } Mo for Settlement D FISHER who was administrator } of Vincent LOCKMAN } Now at this time comes the said Henry G. SMITH administrator oas aforesaid and also the said Lanning BEEM administrator as aforesaid and the said" [endp. 47] [p. 48:] "48 Jackson Probate Court Lanning BEEM asks and obtains leave to make settlement without giving personal notice to the heirs and creditors, and thereupon the said Lanning BEEM filed his account Current herein setting forth the actings and doind of the said Richard D. FISHER as the administrator of the said Vincent LOCKMAN in the words and figures folowing To Wit: "The account current of Lanning BEEM as administrator of the Estate of Richard D. FISHER late of Jackson County Indiana deceased, setting forth an account of the actings and doings of the said Richard D. FISHER as the administrator of Vincent LOCKMAN deceased late of the County, and State aforesaid rendered November 9th 1846. The said Richard S. FISHER as admr as aforesaid should be charged with the amont of the Sale Bill $74.36 Also the amount of the property taken by the widow at the appraised value 100.62 1/2 Also with one hundred and twenty bushels of corn recd. from Ransom WEDDLE 12.00 Also 100 bushels corn received from Ramson WEDDLE 20.00 ------ $216.98 1/2 The said administrator is entitled to a credit as follows By amount paid Stuart HALL March 2 1.00 By amount of property & money received by the widow " 1 125.62 " " Walter BENTON " 3 4.22 1/2 " " L. C. SHEWMAKER " 4 7.00 " " G. W. BEEM's note " 5 10.00 " " paid Lewis SMITH No[?] Voucher " 6 3.50 ------ 151.35 from which it appears that there havve come to the hands of the said Richard D. FISHER as administrator as aforesaid of assets belonging to the estate of the said Vincent LOCKMAN amounting in value to the sum of two hundred and sixteen dollars and ninety eight cents, and that he has paid out in the discharged of the debts and liabilities of said estate and to the widow of the said Vincent the sum of One hundred and fifty one dollars and thirty five cents From all of which it appears that therein[?] at the time of his death in the hands of said
Richard assests belonging to the estate of said Vincent amounting in value to sistey five dollars and sisty three cents. It is therefore considered by the Court that the said Lanning BEEM pay to the said Henry G. SMITH the sum of five dollars which sum is hereby allowed the said Richard for his services as administrator of said Vincent LOCKMAN deceased All of which is now here[?], adjudged and decreed. SMITH administrator Whereby it appears there has come into his hands for adminisration assetts to the amount of forty three dollars and fifty seven cents and that he has paid out in claims against said estate the sum of thirty three dollars and eighty three and one half cents leaving in his hands for distributing including a note on Washington I. LOCKMAN the
sum of nine dollars and 73 1/2 cents, And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the said administrator has fully administrated said estate he is hence discharged."[end p. 6, end of record][end of file]
